Why is Clanq safe?
2FA for key steps
Account openings or loggings into Clanq are carried out using two-factor authentication (2FA). This means that your identity is established in two ways. For our login, it is your password, a secure key and a code sent to your mobile phone number. This prevents unauthorised access.
Secure key
You can only use Clanq on your own mobile phone. The device is linked directly to your account which can only be used from this one linked device. If you want to switch to another device, you will receive a code by SMS (TAN procedure) to the mobile phone number you provided when you first registered.
Click to Pay
Click to Pay is a secure way to pay, and makes it more difficult for scammers to steal your credit card information. It makes online card payments as easy as contactless payments in-store.
You need to register with Click to Pay once. You can do it via the Visa or Mastercard website – for both debit and credit cards.
When paying in an online shop, Click to Pay will appear as a new payment method. You will be recognized via your e-mail address. This process starts automatically. You will see the «Click to Pay» symbol, your stored cards, and you can complete your purchase securely, quickly, and easily.
With Click to Pay every payment is tokenized. The merchant no longer receives your card number as before. Only the amount is authorized. The card data is anonymized, so in the event of a hacker attack, the tokens in the hands of the hackers are worthless.
