60% of parents in Switzerland have problems making financial provision for their children. The problem usually lies in the fact that they believe they have no money left to save. Very often, however, there is simply a lack of awareness of how important it is to start saving early. Over the years, small everyday amounts can add up to a considerable sum! And that’s where Clanq comes in: our app makes saving easy for parents.
In this article, we want to answer some of the questions you might be asking yourself.
How does Clanq work?
Clanq is a banking app that makes it easy for you to save for your children. Every time you make a purchase, you automatically receive cashback that is credited to your digital piggy bank. You can create multiple piggy banks and use the app to clearly manage your financial goals. Thanks to the user-friendly interface, you always have an overview and can easily make the most of your family budget.
How long has Clanq powered by Cornèr been around?
The Clanq app was launched in Switzerland in July 2024. As we have only just begun our journey, our app is constantly being developed. New functions and improvements will follow shortly. One thing in advance: we have big plans for 2025!
What does a Clanq account cost?
The monthly fee for Clanq is 5 CHF. This package includes 1 main account with debit card and up to 5 savings accounts or «digital piggy banks».

What do I get with the Clanq debit card?
Cashback, in other words: money back. When you pay with your Clanq debit card, you get part of the money you spend back every time you make a purchase. Whether online or in-store, you always get 1% or more back automatically.
How much cashback do I get?
The standard cashback is 1%. With our cashback partners you get even more, on average 8%. You get the most cashback in the Clanq Shop, namely up to 25% on all products.
You don’t need to register or remember anything else. Your cashback is automatically transferred to your digital piggy bank to save for your child.
Is my money safe with Clanq?
Yes, we work with the established Swiss Cornèr Bank, which has all the necessary licences and is also strictly regulated. As a partner of Cornèr Bank, Clanq Ltd is a member of the Esisuisse deposit protection scheme. This means that deposited funds are protected up to 100’000 CHF.
All our partners and their entire infrastructure are based in Switzerland or Europe. This means that with Clanq you have the same security as with a large bank.
Who is actually behind Clanq?
The idea of Clanq as a service for families came from Christina Hammer, Jean-Paul Saija and Jakob Kaya. They have channelled their experience as parents and also from banking, business management and software development into the app. We brought Fabienne Saija, an experienced educator, onto the team to help us build our cashback partnerships in Switzerland and create family content.
I myself (Carina Felsberger) have also been on board since day 1 and am behind many of the texts on this website, among other things.
There are also many other important team members who work hard every day to make the Clanq app and everything around it even better.
With the active support and extensive experience of Cornèr Bank, above all Luca De Santis, we are in a prime position.

Yes, that is possible. You can start by entering just a few details (e.g. your e-mail address and name) and get an initial insight into Clanq’s functions. Once you have familiarised yourself with it, you can add more data at any time and use the app to its full extent.
