More and more people are using artificial intelligence to find answers to all sorts of questions, and naturally, parents are doing the same when it comes to parenting issues. As a FinTech founder, I naturally welcome this progress very much. But as a financial expert and a mother, I also know that: <\/span>Financial literacy isn\u2019t developed through a question-and-answer game. It\u2019s developed in everyday life through real-life experience.<\/b><\/p>\n

An AI can explain to your child what money is. However, it cannot convey that feeling when the very last cent has been spent on chips \u2013 and there\u2019s nothing left for those much-loved trading cards.<\/span><\/p>\n

Financial literacy is like riding a bike: you don\u2019t learn it by reading a manual, but only by trying it out, wobbling a bit and carrying on regardless. That\u2019s precisely why, in practice, there are three essential building blocks that no bot in the world can replace.<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Stories that stick<\/b><\/h2>\n

Children understand the world through images and emotions. Terms like \u00abpurchasing power\u00bb or \u00abdigital money\u00bb are abstract. But when we tell children a story \u2013 like that of our St. Bernard puppy, Clarry, who learns at the car boot sale how bartering works or why the invisible money on cards isn\u2019t infinite \u2013 financial knowledge comes to life. Stories create a sense of connection and provide talking points that can be discussed quite naturally over dinner.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Practical tasks in everyday life<\/b><\/h2>\n

An understanding of the value of money comes from linking it to one\u2019s own efforts. Children best grasp the principle that <\/span>money must first be earned<\/span><\/i> through <\/span>practical household tasks<\/span><\/a>. Whilst everyday tasks are part of family life, a small extra sum for special jobs (such as washing the car or clearing out the garage) helps them develop a sense of effort and reward.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Setting and achieving your own savings goals<\/b><\/h2>\n

A child needs to feel their savings growing. If money simply sits in an inaccessible bank account, it remains out of sight. But when coins and notes are allocated to clear savings goals \u2013 for example, in a homemade savings barrel or a digital one in Clanq Kids Banking \u2013 motivation is sparked. The child learns to be patient, to set priorities and to make decisions.<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s about the many little moments whilst shopping, when <\/span>handing out pocket money<\/span><\/a> or when <\/span>looking at what\u2019s been saved<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s absolutely to be welcomed when we, as parents, also use modern technologies to find inspiration, tips or quick explanations for tricky questions.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The key lies in the interplay: AI provides the impetus \u2013 but your child\u2019s real financial literacy grows through shared routines, real-life experiences and the right tools in everyday family life.
